5. Barcelona to Madrid Oct7

Good Morning from Madrid.

We woke in Barcelona and found our way to the train station by subway.   The fast train system in Spain is wonderful.  There is lots of room, it is fairly smooth and at 297 Kilometers per hour, we were in Madrid by noon.

It looks like all of our big city travel is at the beginning of the trip.   We decided to do this so that the relaxing part will come after the hustle and bustle of city sightseeing.    

It takes two and a half hours to get from city to city on the fast or bullet train.'

Madrid is also a beautiful city, but the whole "feeling" is very different.   I guess I can only say it is more Spanish.   People are loud, laughing, enjoying one another and you immediately feel like the city is "happy". This is our hotel rooftop.  They are so proud of their gardens.

Fred and I have not slept well since we left the US.    We did nap at 5:00 p,m and woke at 9:00 pm ,  Fabulous sleep, and I hated to go out, but the city was wide awake with Mariachie bands, buskers on every corner and about double the tables on the streets just full of people enjoying a wonderful evening.
