Day one and plans are always changing. Nothing major and it may make the travel transition more comfortable. We are now on United (in affiliation with Lufthansa). So much for pre writing some of this.

We are finally off and excited to start our adventure to Spain. Fred and I have spent months researching our trip. We thought we would end up leaving from Vancouver BC. Throughout our research, flights were consistently around $800 cheaper if we left from Canada. The train from Tacoma to Vancouver leaves daily for about $40 so it is a no brainier. BUT - You have to leave it to a google search, for there are no secrets in your life when you are searching for information. I received an e-mail about a great flight from Seattle at a great price on Lufthansa. So now it is Seattle to Frankfort and then on to
Barcelona. ( the day has come and we are now on route to Washington DC. Go ahead and look at the picture of Frankfort.....we will catch it on the way home.)
I am writing this page ahead of time so that I can practice with my cell phone. I will apologize now for the location of pictures and location of the text. There are lots of editing prompts on a laptop, but virtually none on our phone or tablet. Ad these frustrations to the that to the fact that I will be sending at the end of the day and my brain will be fried.
I plan on adding pictures from the day and text from the trip at the top of each post. As we have been reading and planning for the trip, I decided to share some of the interesting pictures and information on the blog. Skip it or enjoy learning more about Spain right along with me.
