Seville - The Adventure Continues

It is hard to describe the amount of humidity in this city and in our hotel room.   It is very nice, but crawling into bed is always a little damp.

I woke up to find I had eaten something that gave me stomach problems and so my day was a little hindered with stomach cramps and nausea.    BUT we were still able to challenge through to see two major sights.

My favorite is the 1929 Worlds fair.... the one no one came to and it closed in 3 months.    It is so beautiful and the tile is fabulous.
One of the things you do not see in the picture is that under each arch is a tile mural of a city in Spain.   The whole place is surrounded with a moat, and the fence around the moat and bridges is all tile.  Tile for the tops of the spires and all the murals.

There is a huge fountain in the middle of the moat and the horse and buggies that are everywhere in Seville make sure that they take you around this lovely spot.

We also made it to the largest cathedral in Spain ( third in the world).   This is where Christopher Columbus is buried, and his monument is pretty spectatular. The picture below is his tomb.   He was pretty popular for all the wonders (Gold) that came from the Americas.

The alter in this church was made with the first gold from Americas.   It was 36 story panels all in gold, the poor Inca's gave up a lot of gold to provide for the churches in Spain.
