15. Tarfa to Seville
You would just laugh to see me trying to use an
e-reader to do this blog. It doesn't have a great camera, so I hope to exchange the filler photos with ones that I have taken with my regular camera. Fred and I can't really get this tablet to focus and so with a 5 second shot, we rush to get as much scenery in the photo as possible with my short arms. Fred can't see the screen, so it is always up to me to conjole him into doing a shot.
We did not mention that Tarifa has a 7 mile beach walk that we took after our return from Tangier. We walked 2 miles out and 2 back and saw all these new hotels and condos going up on the beach. The wind surfers were outdoing themselves and the sundown was spectacular.
We left Tarifa this morning and headed to Seville. We did see Gerbralter, but not much of it, we are tiring of all the fuss, and know that Seville is the place everyone wants to enjoy for as long as possible. We decided to head for our final destination and just relax and enjoy.
We took the bus after getting the rental car back to the airport. It was easy enough to do, but the stops were not in English and we got off about 4 stops later than we should have. Oh well, get in a few extra steps. The tower above is Roman at the base and Moorish in the midde with a good Catholic spire on the top.
This city is so interesting and reminds me of a dry Venice with it's narrow streets and plaza's everywhere. We are excited to explore this city that Carol says is her favorite in all of Spain.
Our hotel is right behind the spire above. We are within easy walking distance of all the sights we shall see this week. It won't be long and we will be home. But what an experience.
We will be in the car today and away from wi-fi. I will share a little bit of my research for filler today.
Seville is the capital of southern Spain’s Andalusia region. It's famous for flamenco dancing, particularly in its Triana neighborhood.
This is what we expect to see on the streets of Seville.

Major landmarks include the ornate Alcázar castle complex, built during the Moorish Almohad dynasty, and the 18th-century Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza bullring.
